Problem:
Genstor provides customized solutions for Server, Storage, Clusters, PC/Workstation,
OEM Appliance and High Performance Computing and High Availability needs. Genstor
specializes in customizing hardware around the OS and applications of their customer's
choice. They needed a corporate portal that can convey the message to their prospects
and allow its customers to configure servers with their requirements.
Solution:
Pumex developed a user-friendly web-based product configurator for the client.
We worked with client to understand the business goals of the application and the
process involved. The products can be pre-configured with options and accessories
available in the administrative side. The end users can login to the system, make
their own servers with these options and process the order. Also customers cans
save the profile to their profile for later use. The configurator definition screen
is so simple that Genstor people never have to spend huge amount of time to learn
the system.
Platform:
The application was built on Linux platform with Apache as the web server, PHP as
the middle-tier application language and MySQL as the backend database.
