Company:
A New York based communication and security systems integrator.
Problem:
The client is a leading provider for security and access control systems to leading
high-rise buildings in NY. Client has to deal with several requests for employee
card administration of various companies in those buildings and it was a tedious
work for a staff member to keep track of all faxes sent to them. Each time, a new
employee joins a company or leave a company, the client has to change all security
settings for those cards. Also we need to make sure that the card numbers are not
repeated for a building and there are few other business rules apply.
Solution:
I-Antz developed a user-friendly web-based card administration system for client,
using which all tenants can login and manage their card by themselves. System also
takes care of all business rules of card allotment and profiles. The system accepts
the requests for Add / Update / Delete an employee for each company for a building.
Users can also do a Multi-building request, thus helping them to manage their cards
through multiple buildings at once. There are Export/import facilities provided
to update the employee profile in access control systems. System also generates
CSV files for those cards created / updated or deleted and sends them to each card
access control system through VPN. So the system is almost automated and there is
no more manual interations to update or add new cards.
Platform:
The application was built on Windows platform with IIS as the web server,
C# and VB.NET as the middle-tier application language and MS SQL Server as the backend
database. The reports were developed using Crystal Reports. We also use few third
party controls for UI and PDF creation.
Conclusion:
The customer is extremely happy with the solution developed and implemented. Customer
has saved a lot of time in Card management and also it provides a better service
for its end-clients.
