Company:
A New York based communication and security systems integrator.

Problem:
The company works with several high-rise buildings in New York to implement security and communication systems. It has several departments like Sales, Job Implementation, Purchases, Support and Billing. Earlier the company used to keep track of proposals and project materials using an Access Database. The system was very primitive to company's growth and present requirements. There was a very little view for different departments about what is happening about a job, proposal or Service Ticket. This made its operations extremely cumbersome and management was totally difficult.

Solution:
Pumex developed a user-friendly web-based intranet application for the client. We worked with client to understand the business goals of the application and the process involved. We then mapped these to a custom developed application which helps the client to keep track of activities related to all departments, thus enabling the client to get a wide-angle picture of each activity in the organization. The system also helps the administrator to define severl different types of access levels for various roles of users.

System also helps the client to implement a managed purchasing and inventory system, and provides information for billing. Since it is a web-based application all users can access the system from anywhere, thus leveraging the advantage of working-from-home and 24/7 access to provide better services for its clients.

Platform:
The application was built on Windows platform with IIS as the web server, C# and VB.NET as the middle-tier application language and MS SQL Server as the backend database. The reports were developed using Crystal Reports. We also use few third party controls for UI and PDF creation.

Conclusion:
The customer is extremely happy with the solution developed and implemented. We are now implementing the Stage 2 of the application, that includes more features like mobile interface and extranet for the clients.
